Hi Shelby, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
During my time as a teacher I thrived in helping students achieve their “ah-ha” moments and enjoyed all aspects of putting my 6 year education to great use. However, the salary as a teacher was detrimental to my life outside of the classroom. I knew I wanted my life to be centered on helping students and to continue that passion, but I also wanted a life outside of the classroom with my husband and son. My first thoughts to starting a business that could combine both dreams is where it all began. I wanted to work less hours, with higher salary, with the flexibility to be with my husband and son. 4L Learning is an online private homeschool program for rodeo students. It promotes a positive learning environment while cultivating a supportive and strong community among students, families and teachers.

4L Learning focuses on grades 1st – 8th and has partnered with another school JML Learning for 9th – 12th grades. Together we help to create a learning experience that affects academic success while allowing students to pursue their passions outside the classroom.
